• Present individual and consolidated group accounts of local and international, financially regulated companies in the financial services / insurance industry, including trusts and NGO’s.• Manage a team of 9 accountants.• Analysis and commentary on monthly management accounts against prior year and budgets.• Maintain proper record keeping of all individual and consolidated financial information.• Attend to and ensure proper corporate governance is being adhered to in the group.• Ensure proper accounting records as required by the legislation have been kept proper statutory returns have been maintained.• Develop and maintain financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.• Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.• Ensure, delegating as appropriate, that the financial department is adequately managed and staffed.• Plan the audit and monitor the performance of the audit throughout the audit cycle.• Assist the auditor with any queries as needed.• Prepare and compile the yearly budgets for the above entities.• Propose and implement improvements in internal controls to facilitate accurate and timely reporting and safeguard company assets.• Implementing and maintaining efficient and effective debtors’ procedures to minimise the risk of any bad_debt and late collections.• Ensure proper payment controls are implemented and adhered to thus reducing the risk of_over payment, early payment, fraudulent payment and misallocations to general ledger.• Implement and oversee methods to take advantage of discounts.• Propose and implement improvements in internal controls to facilitate accurate and timely reporting.• Attend to all Reserve Bank and foreign exchange matters.• Ensure, delegating as appropriate, that the debtors and creditors department is adequately managed, staffed and resourced.
