Run CNC mills and lathes to create parts, measure tolerances and fits from engineering drawings using gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Involved with the setup for manufacturing operations including acquiring tooling for jobs, assembling tools in tool holders, setting up/tramming vices, changing out cutter inserts, cycling programs, and setting machine coordinates. While machines are running, monitor operating conditions such as spindle loads through the machine interface. Seek opportunities to improve tool longevity. Offer technical knowledge of engineering principles to help solve problems. Troubleshoot minor tool and machine issues and failures. Make repairs.AMT Motorsport Calculations for C5 corvette racing shifter design - Took measurements of factory-style shifter. Design calculations aim to keep h-pattern shift ratios the same, while minimizing the amount of time that it takes for drivers to complete each gear change. Chevrolet Corvette suspension control arms (C5-C7) - Bushings and bearings. Replace factory rubber bushings with AMT Motorsport aluminum bushings. Measure and custom-machine bushings for each control arm. Assemble bushings in control arms with a shrink fit. Press in bearings and insert snap rings. Assemble arms with ears and/or trunions, and test fit using custom fixtures and Chevrolet Corvette cradles.

Utilized PTC Creo Parametric/Simulate to draft pump-component 3D models, engineering drawings using standard dimensioning and tolerancing, and to analyze pump systems. Types of analysis included clearance checks, structural FEA, and calculations of fluid and solid masses. Provided software support in Creo Windchill, as well as research and implementation of industry standards in the design/validation of pump systems. Validated pump part configurations in ePrism software and identified missing variables, to save 200 hrs. front end cycle time yearly.

Performed technical tests of medical devices and apparatus. Types of tests included electrical, pneumatic, mechanical fatigue, thermal fatigue, impact, user interface, and light emission. Troubleshot mechanical issues with medical devices, test devices and fixtures. Utilized a standardized electronic reporting system to document test outcomes. Drafted corrections, revisions, and updates to test protocols used in the verification/validation of medical devices under development.
