My background is in AI safety research. I don't think that AI safety research is occurring fast enough given the rapid progress in general purpose AI capabilities over the last few years, and so I think we need intervention from the government to adequately mitigate AI risks. I currently work for the Center for AI Policy on developing legislative ideas to offset risks. I'm especially interested in dangerous capability evaluations, measuring AI safety techniques and compute governance.
