As Georadar Application Engineer, I’ve successfully rolled out a Dealer Development program, upskilling regional (Oceania and South East Asia) dealers with Technical and Sales knowledge. Over the years, I’ve conducted numerous demonstrations and projects to support Dealers, leading to Equipment sales across Civil, Mining, Geological and even Law enforcement agencies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, we’ve participated in numerous Marketing events around Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia countries. I was able to build on the synergy with Positioning Partners, offering customers a complete solutions with Georadar products and Topcon GPS solutions. As a Technical lead, I was responsible for submitting Request for Proposal (RFP/tenders). In addition, I was responsible for the Mentoring and coaching of two Graduate Engineers who went on to complete Commissioning and Training activities on Customer site.

As a Field Engineer / QA Engineer at Topcon, I was responsible for the QA of firmware/software for all Surveying Tools, Machine Control and semi-Autonomous Tractor. As part of the QA regime, the new firmware/software had to be field tested. I was able to design and physically install CAN buses, GPS receivers, sensors, steering valves onto Construction excavator, Agriculture Tractor and numerous Machine Control Test jigs. I was able to complete rigorous testing on these equipment, running through test cases to simulate real life scenarios. This is superior to In-Office simulation. The role requires frequent interaction with software Developers. I’ve also rolled out training to new developers to familiarise them with Surveying equipment, Machine Control, Semi-Autonomous tractor and GPS equipment.

Working as Development Engineer, I was able to set up Test cases and physical test jigs to test and provide feedback to R&D departments. This was part of the rigorous NPI process to ensure the new product is suitable for Production. In addition, I was involved in the development of Printed Circuti Board (PCB) and embedded software development. Following successful Hardware and Software iterations, I’ll work on rolling out the design to Manufacturing department, coupled with QA Test instructions and troubleshooting guide, rolling out the training to Technicians. I’ve successfully led 2 new production from R&D through to Engineering to Production and QA.
