Devised new technology project funding selection criteria including strategic fit, unmet clinical needs, medical value, workflow efficiency, intended use, competitive advantages and clinical performance characteristics. Evaluated > 500 potential projects in 5 years. Summarized performance of all ovarian cancer biomarkers in landscape report and successfully completed the product development of ovarian cancer biomarker, HE4 from in-licensing to product launch by Roche Professional Dx.Participated as a core team member in R&D projects such as the Information Technology for Diagnostics, Laboratory Diagnostics 2020, Growing China and the Total Automation of Large Laboratories, resulting in the acquisition of PVT GmbH, an automation company.Identified single molecule RNA FISH technology and bladder cancer immunohistochemistry biomarker for tissue diagnostics, leading to partnerships with Roche Tissue Dx.Secured next generation nanopore sequencing technologies using DNA transistor and recognition tunneling platform for Roche Applied Science.Interacted with IBM to explore additional collaboration in IT, nanotechnology, and system biology.Evaluated the business and technical attractiveness of all point of care hand-held and small desk top platform technologies, recommended the top two companies, and participated in Roche due diligence team company visit together with business development and R&D colleagues from Rotkreuz and Mannheim.Assessed external technologies via the preparation of landscape reports including glycomics, metabolomics, clinical mass spectrometry, multiplexing and antibody technologies, and implemented collaborative research agreements, investment, and partnerships.Presented the present and future microbiology technologies including multiplexed PCR, digital PCR, microarray, sequencing and fully integrated point of care hand-held devices to Roche Molecular Dx global microbiology team.
