After placing in the overall top 13% of applicants (international and domestic) during the 2023 QAS recruitment campaign, I accepted a position as an Advanced Care Paramedic II (ACPII) with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). I have successfully completed the QAS induction and transition to independent practice program (Qualified Paramedic Pathway). I currently operate as an independent clinician (Level 2.2.3) based at Gladstone Ambulance Station in the Central Queensland Region. I provide care utilising the QAS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and Drug Therapy Protocols (DTPs) to the level of ACPII. I also possess the following additional endorsements:-Enactment of Decision-Supported Fibrinolysis (DSFA) to STEMI patients-Administration of box jellyfish antivenom to patients suffering from box jellyfish envenomation -Administration of magnesium sulphate to patients suffering from both box jellyfish envenomation and Irukandji syndrome-Administration of hydroxocobalamin to patients suffering from suspected cyanide poisoning.

Qualified Paramedic providing independent clinical patient care to the P1 Paramedic scope of practice whilst working within NSW Ambulance protocols and procedures. Also acting as a clinical mentor/preceptor to Graduate and Vocational Pathway Paramedic Trainees/Interns. I was based out of Griffith and Tamworth City Ambulance Stations in the Murrumbidgee and Hunter New England Zones.

Qualified MPV Operator (Light and Heavy), equipped with the specialist skills and knowledge to facilitate the treatment, extrication and transport of both bariatric and complex medical patients in specially designed and equipped ambulances. At the time of writing, I was one of only two Graduate Interns to successfully complete this training course. I maintained this qualification throughout my employment with NSW Ambulance and undertook multiple complex patient transfers, including patient retrievals from hospitals in regional New South Wales.

This role involved the provision of clinical patient care within the NSW Ambulance P1 Paramedic scope of practice under the supervision of a Qualified Paramedic during a 12-18 month internship period and transitioning to independent, unsupervised practice. During this time period, I was based out of Bankstown Superstation, the second busiest ambulance station in the Southern Hemisphere.
