About Thomas Maher
Pride in what I have accomplished in my personal, academic and professional life impels me to pursue a new and rewarding challenge. It is important for me to be involved in a career that allows me to pursue my passions, as well as, enhance the quality of life of others. I believe it is essential to have a solid foundation related to theory and practice no matter what profession you pursue. Hence, I obtained both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree related to my career paths. To highlight, I have 18+ years experience as a professional educator, coach, and advisor. I was nominated by my peers and received a "Service Above Self/Teacher of the Year Award". In addition, I proposed, created, and taught a new Social Studies semester elective; The Holocaust and Beyond: Tolerance, Respect, Understanding. Due to the overall engagement and success of the course, students petitioned administration to change the course to a year-long offering. I was also selected as a founding faculty member from a schoolwide candidate pool of over 3,000 applicants. Those achievements were made possible, because I was adept/highly skilled at applying what I learned. Furthermore, I believe that ongoing professional development is vital. Throughout my professional years, implementing technology is something I fully embrace. I have a genuine interest in technology and always want to learn more to aid in my professional growth. My jobs have provided me the chance to immerse myself in learning about and directly working with a myriad of cloud-based platforms. I am a solutions-driven individual with experience in solving complex problems, working with cross-functional teams, and building project plans in Asana and Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. I completed the Google Project Mnagement Career Certificate-a rigorous, hands-on program that covers traditional and Agile Project management approaches throghout the life cycle of a project.My personal, academic, and professional endeavors have shaped me into a well-rounded, highly-skilled and successful person.
