Hello. I’m Thomas.I had a meandering college path; I spent four years at Glendale Community College and three years at ASU West Valley. I began college expecting to graduate in four years. However, my winding college paths taught me life’s about reaching the finish line, not being the first one across it. One benefit of my path is I discovered my interests; said interests are history, political science, current events, and national security. I have research and writing skills that I use in my daily life. For example, after I read a book like "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, I explore the author's biography and the time the book was written in. I learned during the research that Camus was a Pied-Noir (French for Black Feet), a white European born and raised in Algeria from the French invasion in 1830 to its independence in 1962. This detail explains why much of "The Stranger" looks similar to Camus' life; he wrote the book based on his experiences. I’m looking for ways into work after college. I have a variety of experiences from working with the Arizona state government to supporting a lifeguard trainer who taught classes all over Arizona to working for a month at a local daycare. I want to be an archivist, museum curator, or policy analyst after I graduate, but I know there's plenty of ways into public services.
