Cardinal Points is a student-run, weekly newspaper that is distributed in Plattsburgh, NY. As the news editor, I am responsible for pitching and assigning stories to staff writers, editing submitted stories, laying out the pages in the news section of the paper. I also write stories for the news sections, as well. I work side-by-side with other section editors as well as the EIC and the managing editor to produce a quality and informative newspaper.

During my time as the associate news editor, I was responsible for writing and editing two news articles each week. In addition I spent time copy editing news articles, as well as articles from different sections. I also wrote up five news briefs each week, and placed them on the page.
