Supervise, plan and review the work of skilled SCADA Systems Specialists and Signal/Communications Technicians; oversee, supervise and prioritize daily operations and the inspection, maintenance, repair and testing of SCADA, signal, communication and life-safety systems that support the operation of the light rail system and operations in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT); supervise the technical maintenance of server and fiber optic networking systems, system databases and related components of SCADA control, CCTV and emergency telephone systems of the DSTT; supervise the technical maintenance of remotely controlled railroad switches, automatic train control and grade crossing warning systems as well as the light rail radio and 800Mhz radio systems; ensure all systems are optimized and fully operational to support the safe and efficient operation of the light rail system; determine most technically feasible solutions to technical issues, deploy resources and coordinate system impact and maintenance operations with Rail Operations and Transit Division staff; assess and implement signal and SCADA system modifications and updates, and manage contractors performing system maintenance; determine and recommend system preventive maintenance programs and standard operating procedures; participate in accident investigation teams and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Direct and ensure timely and appropriate response to service disruptions, weather emergencies and critical incidents.2.
