Supervise, plan and review the work of skilled SCADA Systems Specialists and Signal/Communications Technicians; oversee, supervise and prioritize daily operations and the inspection, maintenance, repair and testing of SCADA, signal, communication and life-safety systems that support the operation of the light rail system and operations in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT); supervise the technical maintenance of server and fiber optic networking systems, system databases and related components of SCADA control, CCTV and emergency telephone systems of the DSTT; supervise the technical maintenance of remotely controlled railroad switches, automatic train control and grade crossing warning systems as well as the light rail radio and 800Mhz radio systems; ensure all systems are optimized and fully operational to support the safe and efficient operation of the light rail system; determine most technically feasible solutions to technical issues, deploy resources and coordinate system impact and maintenance operations with Rail Operations and Transit Division staff; assess and implement signal and SCADA system modifications and updates, and manage contractors performing system maintenance; determine and recommend system preventive maintenance programs and standard operating procedures; participate in accident investigation teams and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Direct and ensure timely and appropriate response to service disruptions, weather emergencies and critical incidents.2. Identify, evaluate and recommend service, quality, workplace and business process improvements.3. Establish and maintain a collaborative and effective labor relations environment.4. Manage employee absenteeism, vacation change requests, sick/injury leaves and related ADA/FMLA processes and requirements for assigned employees.5. Interview and recommend selection of assigned staff; provide employees with training and development opportunities as available. Show less
