Thomas McCarthy holds a BCL from University College Cork, Qualified and practised as a Barrister at Kings Inns, in Dublin. Thomas requalified and practised as a solicitor for 13 years before returning to corporate environment on a full time basis. Thomas is currently the Chairman of the McCarthy Group. Thomas commenced business in 1959 and since that time has been involved in a variety of industries including legal, property, leisure and retail. He has held a number of external directorships. Thomas has a strong network of leading decision makers within the Financial, Banking and Development Sectors. This network has grown through extensive business dealings over the last 50+ years. Thomas is the Past President of the North Mon PPU 1976 and was selected as “Man of the Year” in 1995, Corks Business Person of the Month in November 2006 and Corks Patron of the Year 2007. He is also Chairman of the Cork South Docklands Landowners Group.
