Supervisor - Survival
CurrentPrimary purpose of the current job: To manage and supervise the service, survey, repair and test of marine safety and survival equipment in accordance with international standards as prescribed by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), manufacturer & other governing bodies.Output: A smooth running of the Lifesaving department with motivated staff. All equipment that leaves the department was serviced with the highest standard and all areas are in immaculate condition at any timeKey Job Objectives (KJO’s) 1. Supervision of Staff & Sub Contractors – manage staff performance and development; 2. Supervision of Inspection, Repairs, Servicing and Testing of Survival Equipment; 3. Management of Hub on behalf of Survitec Global Solutions; 4. Manuals and Publications updates; 5. Station Accreditation and Audit; 6. Customer liaison; 7. Inventory; 8. Initiative, Development and Compliance; 9. Quoting & Costing for Survival & FFES section1. Work process & jobs planned & organized. Resolves technical issues & queries IRO ongoing work. Appoints sub-contractors & manages Sub-contracted work. Maintain staff motivation & manage staff performance 2. Inspection, Repairs, Servicing and testing of survival equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specs and IMO 761 requirements. Enforce high work standard from self & subordinates. 3. Perform pre-sale inspections and certification before dispatch of rafts. Arrange transportation for distribution to local ports & to foreign ports.4. Ensure service technicians are issued with Service Bulletins & manuals and have access.5. Compliance with IMO res. A.761 (18) and MSC.55 (66), ISO 9001:2008. 6. Liaises with customers, Facilitates the sale & on time quotations (SAP) 7. Maintains inventory levels in relation to service volumes & in accordance with makers guidelines. 8. Initiative, Development and Compliance.9. Responsible for H&S as supervisor (Section 8.2). Responsible for SGMT DBN Security 24/7
