I know that all too well. As a result, employee attrition and engagement can lag. I know that for most people, this is not their industry of choice. I take the stance that I am a steward of the talent reporting to me. My job is to show them the possibilities and guide them toward a career path that will move them forward.Part of my leadership is empowerment. I should be developing people who can replace me. Therefore, I seek to empower them to make decisions and improve their professional skill set. I come alive when I’m able to work with my team members, coaching and guiding them to understand their value to the organization. It was sign of success and meant everything to me when I was nominated by two of my direct reports for the Coach’s Circle Award with Chubb Insurance.OPERATIONS REFINEMENTAs a certified level three Exactimate trainer, I’ve helped companies make appreciable operational efficiencies with the implementation of Exactimate. Additionally, with process improvements, piloting new technology and leveraging data to fine tune staffing, we’ve seen gains in goal achievement, time to first payment and productivity.LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENTSince starting in the insurance industry, I’ve been drawn to learning and development. In every position I’ve held, I’ve been involved in adult learning. In addition to guiding and refining claims operations, I’ve also worked in roles that were solely focused on shaping the learning and development strategy for the entire claims organization.
