I am currently unemployed. I was as recently made redundant with SIMEC mining in Whyalla's SMR due to restructure in the business. During my time with SIMEC, i was part of the maintenance team. shutdows on the concentrator, crusher and the OBP. I repaired parts for the plant, built new parts. Inspections and also assisted with breakdowns. Prior to that i was with AGC refractory division in the Whyalla Steelworks as a mechanical Leading hand boilermaker/welder/labourer. I have worked in and around the Steelworks since year 2000. I have also work in various mine sites in South Australia. Other sites I have worked include Santos (port bonython) Port Augusta power station, Nyrstar (port pirie) Prominent Hill (gold and copper mine) Illuka mine, Adelaide Brighton Cement, Iron Duke, Iron Barron. My roles have been fabrication, installation and shutdown work. While at Leighton's I was a level 5 leading hand/supervisor,looking after up to 20 crew members on shutdowns/breakdowns and maintenance, also creating JSA's and small quoting
