I lead the organization's episodic volunteer program at Second Harvest Heartland. I schedule both individual and group volunteers, as well as provide assistance with volunteer team registration. I spend time recruiting and supporting, as many as 600+, weekly volunteers through the online registration process to sort and pack donated food product for individuals coping with food insecurity. In my position as Volunteer Coordinator, I supervise the work of the 2,800+ volunteers packing food for over 1,000,000 individuals struggling with food insecurity each year. Key responsibilities are facilitating teams of volunteers who inspect food donations and pack menus for our programs, collaborating with Food Bank staff to identify special and skill-based volunteer projects, preparing reports pertaining to volunteer hours and services, and attending community events, campaigns, resource fairs, etc. to promote Community Food Bank of Central Alabama and its volunteer opportunities.

Assisted the Zoning & Permitting Department perform site acquisition services for thousands of cell sites for both carriers and tower companies in the United States. I was involved in the redesigning of construction drawings of new tower development sites for T-Mobile. Essential duties consist of filing various permits, serving as an intermediary between communication companies and jurisdictions, recording and evaluating account information, and delivering issued permits to clients.

Supported the Volunteer Resources Team, which leads 375 volunteer shifts every week that prepare, package, and deliver 400,000 nutritiously modified meals each year to individuals living with life-threatening illness in the Denver and Colorado Springs communities. Core responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling and training corporate volunteer groups and individual volunteers, entering and analyzing volunteer data, representing the agency at community events, and personally delivering meals to clients.

As Special Events Intern, I helped recruit over 230 Denver area restaurants to participate as sponsors in Project Angel Heart’s Dining Out For Life event, which raised 35 percent more funds for HIV/AIDS service organizations than any of the other 45+ participating markets. In preparation for the event, I managed website content, communicated important event details with sponsors, and trained over 75 event volunteers. During my internship, I had the opportunity to closely support the VP of Development, Director of Marketing, and Special Events Manager, which gave me the unique experience of having a hand in non-profit event management at every stage.
