When Thomas Murphy moved to Tampa in 2003, he intended on staying to finish his undergraduate degree, but after graduating from the University of South Florida he knew this was home. While in college, Thomas worked in the service industry where he honed his love of helping people. Ultimately, Thomas wanted to help in a more exclusive way while creating lifelong trusting relationships. He decided to pursue real estate where he not only helps, but educates and advises—always holding honesty as his number one value. Thomas loves learning about the many wonderful neighborhoods in Tampa, and throughout the years has called many of them home. This knowledge of Tampa neighborhoods and surrounding cities became a key influence teaching him both the history of the area as well as staying on the edge of what is to come.Raised in Dixon, Illinois, Tampa had the small-town feel Thomas was used to but with the excitement of a big city. Thomas has lived throughout Tampa Bay, and in each neighborhood he has made a point to know his neighbors and learn the area’s history. In 2012, when Thomas moved to Tampa Heights he knew it was the location he had been looking for. It instantly reminded him of the neighborhood he had grown up in. A mix of longtime residents and new singles and families. Community outreach is very important to Thomas. He has volunteered from a young age. In elementary school he was the youngest volunteer helping to restore the historic Dixon Theatre and also volunteered at KSB hospital in Dixon. Since moving to Tampa, Thomas has volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries, tutoring with Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services and youth HIV testing through USF. Thomas is an active volunteer with Feeding Tampa Bay and is the current chair for Central Park Community Advisory Committee. Thomas’ goal is to help preserve communities and build from their historical foundations; growing but not forgetting the past. Working with Thomas, you will see his honesty, dedication and education.
