During my time at Explore Learning I was able to build on and solidify the experience I built working in schools around the city. It was a valuable experience to dive into the digital education sector and learn more about creative, contemporary, solutions to modern industrial complications.

Working with Vibe I was lucky enough to experience the full range of educational practice. From working long term with a regular, tight-knit group of SEN students, to working in a more general capacity leading a classroom. I have planned lessons, supervised trips, dealt with parents, manned the exclusion room, and much more. Having worked in longer-term positions with Vibe, I have also had the privilege of getting involved in the behind-the-scenes operation of a successful school. Contributing to school-wide discussions and policies moving forwards. Beyond the educational elements, I have also become well acquainted with the safeguarding concerns inherent to working in an educational setting, and around children in general. Working with vulnerable and SEN students has been an illuminative experience. Both in terms of the skills and qualities it has helped me develop, but also as an individual.

Filling in as long-term supply, I had to step up and take over sole responsibility for a full load of English classes. Working with every year from 7 to 6th form, I had to draw from, and build on, my whole set of educational skills to deliver enjoyable, educational lessons to all ages.

The HintHunt London escape room was one of the most fantastic working experiences of my life. It was a true familial environment. It was the perfect place to work for creatives and students. It allowed us to foster and employ our creative talents through our work while engaging passionately with the public. Unfortunately, the London branch was forced to close due to the pandemic. Fortunately, the friendships and experiences I built there are still with me today.

Working with Prospero was a fantastic way of building on my earlier teaching experience. Stepping up from teaching assistant to cover supervisor was an important step for me, as I learned to see past the trees for the forest. Incorporating these experiences into my skill library has allowed me to build my confidence to a point where I can comfortably take on leadership roles.

My time at Showstars was spent doing hard work to tight schedules. My role was mostly as a scaffolder, but the nature of live event work means that you do what needs to be done. As such my roles included everything from rubbish collection, and dismantling stages, to guiding cranes. It was fast-paced and hard work, but it taught me a lot about how much time and effort goes into every single live show.

Having come right out of the gate from school, I got accepted onto a prestigious apprenticeship with the Corporation of London as a Tree Surgeon. Completing my apprenticeship in the first year, I was employed full-time for a second as a Junior Arborist.
