Developed a new design for a lock open check valve validated through calculation. Key aspects were simplicity of design and ease of use whilst consideration of cost and feasibility of manufacture were also taken into account.Product improvement project looking at optimisation of gate valve design using FEA, specifically with Hyperworks FE software. FE model was validated with strain gauges on existing design before a lightweight valve body was designed using FEA.
