I am retired now, but last duty assignment involved the following.Maintained operational plans. Created and distributed training plans for mobile communications and fixed locations.Aided in providing communications for the Gulf War while stationed in Izmir, Turkey working for the Joint Signal Group (JSG) and 6ATAF NATO.Positions held during my Air Force career:Operations NCO: Responsible for maintaining and updating peace-time and war-time operation plans. Also, create and distribute training scenarios for mobile combat communications.Training NCO: Responsible for overseeing enlisted training requirements and that training material was properly distributed. Schedule training sessions and also a classroom instructor when needed.Technical Adviser: Provided technical advice and support to the Texas Air National Guard. Myself and four other active duty personnel provided guidance and leadership to the 254th Mobile Combat Group in Garland, Texas. Assisted in writing new procedures and updating other procedures. I was the liaison between the Air National Guard and the active duty force.Circuit Actions NCO: Generated required documentation to either activate a new Air Force communications circuit or have an existing circuit changed. Provided our telecommunications specialists with up-to-date circuit information. Provided our group commander with a daily status report and briefing of all communications within the country we were serving.
