Worked this summer as an engineering intern in the stress analysis team at the Moog MilitaryAircraft branch. I worked on many individual projects and completed 10 projects throughoutthe summer. I interacted with many programs inside military aircraft, so I was always looking atnew problems, and creating new solutions. Utilized synchronous modeling techniques with NX and Teamcenter to design testprograms for actuators. Modeled and ran static structural simulations in ANSYS, reporting on high stress regionsfor multiple programs. Created a test program for getting accurate thread tear-out data on threaded retainers, and many other IRAD testing programs. Ran simulations on Non-Conformities (NC’s), and worked on a Notice of Escape (NOE). Iworked on the NOE for the last 5 weeks of the internship, and it was the top priority of theteam at the time. I helped create the process for finding and fixing these problems and wasable to run a quarter of the simulations myself before my internship ended. Wrote Python code to utilize PyANSYS capabilities to solve gear optimization solutionsfaster and quicker by bypassing the ANSYS workbench system. Created code in Python to use image detection to categorize and find certain propertiesthat are present on drawn, and computerized drawings within Teamcenter. Ran testing on bushing and spool strength, and those tests were used by the client topropose new specifications for their assemblies. Consolidated 18 years of internal testing into readable plots and tables, andcategorized them into branching subsets of material, grain direction, dimensions, deburring technique, and bore/line intersection type. This was for 3 test programs, andresulted in 24 unique graphs, that specifically categorize those conditions. Those scenarioscurrently being used as references when those scenarios come up in the design of newactuators.

I helped run labs and lectures alongside professors and TAs, as well as work with teams of freshmen as their go-to source from a student who has just taken the course's perspective. I have since worked with many of my students in engineering clubs, and have helped grow those clubs by encouraging the new students at UB to join them.

I worked in the plastics blow mold section of the factory, as well as the filling stations for the drink products. I primarily worked with the blow mold machines, maintaining them during solo shifts, and producing roughly 40,000 bottles per day while I worked there, which was double the standard. I did this by maintaining the machines thoroughly, using my engineering background.
