About Thomas Rea

I am a former Assistant United States Attorney who brings deep trial experience to my white-collar defense and investigations practice. I represent corporate and individual clients in a wide range of disputes and have significant experience in appellate litigation and conducting sensitive investigations.I served for over 17 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Missouri, first-chairing numerous trials. During that time, I led investigations and served as the criminal division chief, overseeing thousands of cases, including those related to white-collar crime, public corruption, terrorism, organized crime, firearms, and narcotics. I was the lead attorney on multiple homicide prosecutions and cold-case investigations. I also spent time in the civil division, handling federal litigation involving employment discrimination, immigration, personal injury, and medical malpractice.I am an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University, where I taught courses on trial advocacy and criminal procedure. I have been voted adjunct faculty member of the year three times. For over a decade, I also instructed at the National Advocacy Center, a training institution on legal and leadership.
