Current• Interviews and communicates with offenders and others in person, by telephone, or by written correspondence in a variety of settings during the supervision period.• Visits offenders and others in their homes and in the community for the purpose of verifying and assessing the home situation and the offender’s adjustment while under supervision.• Creates and maintains an official record to document case activity on offenders by following Agency policies and procedures.• Produces documents to communicate information regarding offenders to the Courts, Parole Commission or related agencies and to recommend appropriate action.• Analyzes, interprets and accesses gathered case information to identify additional information needs, offender risk, creates and updates case plans, formulates supervision strategies and implements supervision plans and strategies to insure compliance with conditions of supervision and/or to maintain the offender in the community with minimal risk to the public by applying Agency policy and procedure, training and experience.• Attends hearings in various Courts or correctional institutions throughout the State of Maryland in order to visually identify offenders and to testify from official records regarding offenders under supervision. • Obtains samples (breath, urine or others) from offenders to detect use of alcohol and/or drugs to insure compliance with conditions of supervision.
