Responsible for managing a monthly P&L of $5.5M. Led the daily tactical planning and long term strategic planning for the Santa Clara manufacturing facility, with a focus on manufacturing products for semiconductors to ensure meeting production schedule, efficiency, quality, yield and throughput. Managed all phases of the ISO-16949/ISO-9001 compliant and ITAR-TSA certified organization from product order placement and prioritization to shipment. Reviewed and developed new manufacturing processes and procedures for all new orders and products and ensure proper resource and tool allocation so as to meet customer design for manufacturing.Revitalized the Production Department through team building and cross-training. Hired, trained, and developed employees’ capabilities through formal coaching and empowerment. Trained and led manufacturing team on many continuous improvement projects. Applied Six Sigma, 5S, Risk/Reward tools and other Continuous Improvement tools to resolve all process related problems and optimize the manufacturing process. Improved yield from 92.5% to 97.3%Implemented numerous Lean Manufacturing cost saving processes. For example, switched to self-maintenance. Reduced fix cost by 2.75X and variable cost by 2.20X and successfully improved Gross Margin and Operating Profit in recessionary years.Selected, developed, and evaluated personnel to ensure efficient manufacturing operation. Increased operator efficiency from 2.1 people/unit to 0.63 people/unit and kept undesirable turnover rate below 2%.Managed and negotiated outsourced processing steps, including movement to/from vendors and vendor selection.Leveraged and engaged cross functional teams in key customer initiatives that drove customer satisfaction, earning the rank of number one photomask merchant in California.Introduced two new products for the company that required market analysis, RIO calculations, and an introduction strategy.
