Manager Of Foundation RelationsMercatus Center At George Mason University Nov 2019 - Oct 2023Arlington, Virginia, UsaAs a Manager of Foundation Relations, I wrote grant proposals and reports to show donors the return on their investment in Mercatus and to excite them about future funding opportunities. My other responsibilities included understanding prospective and current donor interests and activities to find areas of alignment with the Mercatus Center's vision. I also was tasked with understanding Mercatus research and activities and articulating these succinctly in written and verbal communications with donors. On the trouble-shooting front, among my successes were contacting a lapsed donor, discussing the concerns that caused him to stop giving, and working with top management at Mercatus to alleviate those concerns, with the result that this donor resumed his giving. I also successfully followed up with a donor that was late in meeting its financial pledge to the organization, with the result that the donor resumed its payment schedule. -
