Managed the cold and hot commissioning of a state-of-the-art Steel Micro-Mill manufacturing plant; the first steel mill in the United States to use the Danieli Q-One Electric Arc Furnace regulation and automation system. Oversaw the successful testing and start up of all process related equipment and automation for each process area including: Endless Charging System, Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Metallurgical Furnace, Raw Material Additive System, Continuous Casting Machine, Induction Reheat Furnace, Rolling Mill, Fume Treatment Plant, Water Treatment Plant, Ladle Rebuild Station and Rolling Mill Rebuild Station.

Managed engineers and mechanics to perform daily maintenance tasks and inspections on Melt Shop operational equipment. Worked with original equipment manufacturers to implement process equipment improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency, resulting in increased production time.

Established multiple online monitoring programs aimed to identify machine fault conditions before total failure, thus improving reliability of equipment and improving production uptime. Coordinated improvement projects aimed to eliminate production delays by introducing process redundancy or improved maintenance practices. Coordinated predictive maintenance program with two technicians for the entire plant, resulting in average cost savings of $50,000 per month
