Tom Scharfenberg has been a Senior Manager in Weight Engineering since 2011. Weight Engineering is responsible for predictive weight and balance analysis, driving weight efficient designs, creation of mass distribution models for loads analysis, support of airplane delivery and flight test, and helping customers utilize and operate their airplanes. From 2001 to 2011, Tom was a 1st level manager in Weight Engineering including assignments leading Sales Support, Customer Introduction, Product Development and the 787 Program. Leading the weight control effort on the 787 program was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of Tom's career. Before management, Tom held many various Weight Engineering assignments in sales support, customer introduction, and weight control on the 767-400, 777-200LR and 777-300ER programs. Prior to BCA, Tom started his Boeing Career in BDS with design, stress and mass properties assignments on the Space Station. Tom graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering.
