Appointed to the Friends of Morley Library Board. The Friends of Morley Library are a group of volunteers dedicated to helping make the Library the best it can be. The Friends conduct fund raising activities to benefit the Library, as well as focusing public attention on the Library services, facilities and needs.Recipient of the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award.

I worked part-time in the Academics and Student Affairs division of the College. I provided assistance with special projects under the leadership of the VP for Enrollment Management and the EVP for Academic and Student Affairs.

Provided assistance in the process to be used to select a new Superintendent of Schools. Compiled survey data from stakeholder groups including parents, teacher, community members, non teaching employees and administrators. Conducted focus group meetings to gather input from stakeholder groups. Assisted in the development of the screening / interview committee process guidelines.

I have retired from Cuyahoga Community College after 34 1/2 years and eight different administrative positions. I am currently enjoying some R and R time with my family and looking forward to the next phase of my life.

Promoted to this executive management position with responsibilities for all enrollment and retention related departments and activities of the College. These included admissions, financial aid, student records, registration, academic records, college information center, athletics, student activities. Responsible for or assisted with the strategic implementation of all technology related systems for the 24,281 students of the College from 1979 - 2008. Received the Cuyahoga Community College President’s Award in 2007 and 2008 as well as the Professional Excellence Award in 2003.

Appointed by the College President to serve as Interim Campus President of the Western Campus. Responsible for all campus academic and student affairs personnel and departments for this campus of 12,600 students.

Responsible for enrollment and retention related departments and activities for the campus. Served as the administrator in charge in the absence of the Campus President.

Responsible for the planning, management, and continuous improvement of all aspects of the counseling and advising program consistent with the division, campus, and institutional goals. Select, supervise, direct, and evaluate a staff of fourteen (14; clerical staff employees. Responsible for a budget of $1.5 million. Manage enrollment services for new, continuing, returning, and transfer students. Utilize technology and data-based systems to support counseling and advising and management activities of the department. Design and promote special services for new students (First Year Experience Program), African-American students, Hispanic students, student athletes, international students, transfer students, probationary students and dismissed students. Develop partnerships with academic affairs for First Year Experience and Learning Community students. Develop and disseminate information about students to administrators, faculty, and counselors. Administer student evaluations of counseling services. Provide leadership to campus and College leadership teams. Administer the General Studies Academic Division.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of the Director of Counseling position, directed all activities of the Admissions and Records department. Administered each phase of the new student intake process including recruitment, registration, grading, student records management, transcript evaluation, international student programming, and graduation certification. Resulted in more timely problem solving of student issues.

Charged with unifying counseling program which was decentralized in five (5) locations on the Metropolitan Campus. Supervised the design and construction of a new centralized counseling department. Responsible for the administration of the Student Employment Program. During the 1976-1977 academic year 700 students participated in the employment program. A federal program review team called the Student Employment Program a "model for community colleges." Developed a Student Employment Manual for department heads which streamlined the student hiring process. Developed financial aid award packages. Assisted students with the completion of financial aid applications. Directed the Job Placement program for the campus. Arranged on-campus interviews for employers with students. Guided students regarding the job search process.

Duties included the administration of the student personnel functions to three hundred (300) students and coordination of activities of fourteen (14) staff members housed in three (3) dormitories. The recruitment, interviewing, selecting and training of staff along with supervision of programming for each area student government association were additional responsibilities.

Responsible for new student program and directed the activities of thirty (30) staff personnel. Served as general information source for the more than three thousand (3000) conference participants. Coordinated pre-season housing for the Kent State University football team.
