Tom is an authority in psychological assessment, talent development, applied research, and organizational consulting. He is the Founder of Academy of Work Science (AWS), helping organizations, professional coaches, academic institutions, and athletic programs develop psychological skills (mental toughness, intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, & achievement striving) that drive success across all performance domains. Leveraging extensive consulting experience and research spanning thousands of large and medium size corporations, non-profit entities, start-ups and other organizations, as well as professional and elite athletes (MLB, NHL, NBA. Olympiads, NCAA D1); AWS offers certification in cutting edge applied psychological techniques targeted at developing these critical psychological skills.Prior to his work with IKM & AWS, Tom served as Caliper Corporation’s Senior Vice President of Research and Development. During that time he drove the development of scientifically-based selection, development and organizational effectiveness tools, products, and services that currently form the basis for talent management programs in thousands of companies worldwide. Tom is an adjunct faculty member at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, teaching courses in the Human Resources Management and Professional MBA programs. He has previously served as a faculty member at Villanova University and The College of New Jersey. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Temple and has written articles and has spoken at numerous scientific and professional conferences.
