I utilized my computer experience to custom design a control software for my telescope and cameras to record the visual data to a network storage array. Implemented both still image and video capture techniques. Currently working on a custom program that will compare two images for differences to identify suspected asteroids. Currently designing an orbital tracking software to keep up with the position of near earth asteroids and other objects.

I am responsibile for the management of all IT areas related to the network, Active Directory, Exchange email, centralized anti-virus, firewall, 100+ PCs, AS/400 mainframe, development/maintenance of the company intranet, back-ups, development of reports. Notably accomplishments are roll-out of new computers to 90% of existing machines, establishment of Centralized Call center to improve performance with a reducing number of employees, establishment of a automated dialer to take the load of making calls from clerks using visual basic, implemented satellite file servers to improve Access to data rates, upgraded networks from old 100 mbps to 1000 mbps standard, implemented offsite storage for back-ups, solved phone connectivity issue that had been causing dropped calls for over 4 years, implementation of VOIP phone system from a PBX, Upgraded WAN to fiber-optics connections from T-1 at roughly the same cost across 4 locations, brought Internet website in house saving 2000$ a year in hosting fees, Improved IT Infrastructure to the point that most calls are password, printer, or data request related issues.

My primary responsibility was for the State's Disease Surveillance System which utilized MSSQL. I was responsible for writing an extensive DTS package to process data from a multitude of tables that reported foodborne conditions down to CDC. Also wrote scripts to extract and transfer data from our surveillance system to a different department. I was responsible for Designing, programming, and implementing a web based security system for state wide webbased Department of Health systems utilizing Entrust certificates and SunOne LDAP to secure the above mentioned system over the internet. While trouble shooting an issue, I learned the programming and processing steps needed for Cloverleaf to process Standard HL7 messages so that they could be sent to and from our surviellance system. I was also responsible for the implementation of Raphaspody to supplement Cloverleaf for the processing of standard messages between Department of Health systems. I was also the main contact for epidemiologist with questions about SQL and Crystal Reports to pull data from our systems.

Developed laser vibrometer control and visual data display program that utilized parallel assembly and c++ languages. The system was used to view the vibrations of fatigued metal as it was bombarded with intense sound. The system was submitted for a patent, but due to the program being original and the other parts just a combination of pre-existing technology it did not qualify. I was given an award for making a significant contribution to the national knowledge base.
