About Thomas Spring
I have been working as a Petrologist specializing in analysis to ASTM and AS1141 standards on construction aggregate, asphalt/sealing aggregates, rip rap, dimension stone, rail ballast, marine armour rock and concrete. As well as doing Quarry assessment for suitability in production of specific material types. I have been expanding in to economic mineral petrology looking at exploration cores including mineralisation and petrogenisis. My objectives are to develop my knowledge and skills as a professional Petrologist in the mining and construction industry. I am highly motivated in everything I do, and take pride in what ever task I apply myself to. I have graduated in geoscience with distinction from QUT (2013) and completed my Masters in applied science (Geochemistry and Volcanology) based in the Warralong Greenstone Belt, WA in 2017. I have also completed many industry based training courses run by AIG, including a week long Gold Short Course under the guidance of Neil Phillips and a Ore Texture and Breccia course under the guidance of Roger Taylor and Richard Lilly.
