This thesis aimed to evaluate a non-destructive testing method (Vision-system) by using the measurment system analysis metholodgy, to ensure if it is possible to measure the weld toe radius in a welded T-joint.The result was a proprietary algorithm named STELIN, that automatically scans the welded surface and identifies the toe radius. This is a unique product since no other program manages to find the zone of the toe radius.

Quality management tools and lean principles were used to develop a plan of action, with the purpose to ensure a shorter and more reliable production lead time as well as reducing the amount of WIP (work in process). The project resulted in a detailed plan of action to the management team which reduced the production lead time from 33 to 9 days.
