Tom began his career as a consultant in the national office of Kenneth Leventhal & Company. Prior to forming Thomas Stephen & Company, L.L.P., in 1991, Tom was the V.P. of Finance for Cambridge Companies, Inc. a diversified real estate and Investment Company where he administered the restructuring of approximately 150 real estate projects. Tom has also served on the Southlake City Council (2001 – 2004) and has served on various boards including the Southlake Park Development Corporation, a Tax Increment Finance District, Joint Use Committee and the Carroll Education Foundation. Tom has extensive experience in tax compliance, deal structuring and syndication, non judicial “workouts”, litigation and litigation support, equity and debt financing, complex public financing mechanisms, the affordable housing industry along with many other types of deal related consulting engagements. Tom’s expertise includes partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, S corporations and trusts.
