My role as a graduate ecologist includes undertaking various assessments under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act), the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act) and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), including flora and fauna impact assessments, vegetation and conservation management plans, Koala assessments under the Koala Habitat Protection SEPP and large scale Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDAR). I currently complete flora and fauna surveys, including targeted threatened species surveys, harp trapping, mammal trapping, hair trapping, reptile searches, bird surveys, spotlighting and call playback. My role also includes tasks such as climbing trees and installing nest boxes. I have gained extensive experience in supervising tree clearing works and i am very competent with handling fauna under these conditions.Within my role i also complete tasks in relation to Bushfire Planning and Design, Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessments, Complying and Development Application assessments in accordance with Planning for Bush Fire Protection 2019 (PBP), the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Australian Standards AS3959-2018.

Supervisor of the Fruit and vegetable department. Making sure operation runs smoothly during the day. Typically supervising 1-3 workers during the day.

I assisted in a monitoring program for the Scottish Broom at the Barrington Tops National Park. While working in the program, I collected primary data with various sub-contractors in the field. I also assisted the sub-contractors working on various treatment methods for the removal of the species. One of these was a biotic treatment that I heavily observed during my time at the national park. While working in the field, I was required to detect any of the endangered species that are located at the national park in working with the ‘Save Our Species’ program. Throughout the placement my role was to record the data that was found in the field. I was also responsible for managing all previous data that was recording throughout the program and organise the information into a summary sheet that can be used by NPWS. I assisted officers at NPWS and a contracted ecologist in analysing data and future planning for the program. I also assisting the volunteer officer at NPWS in changing the process in the monitoring program to be suitable for volunteers.
