I returned to TDOC full time from retirement. I work with county jails to get sentenced inmates into state custody, aide in coordinating inmate placement and transportation to Tennessee's 14 facilities, court appearances, medical appointments and transfers. I review and develop TDOC policies and practices, preform security inspections, respond to inmate family concerns, and am an assistant to the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner

I'm 36 year employee of the Tennessee Department of Correction. I started in 1979 at Nashville Regional Correctional Center (NRCF) later named Middle Tennessee Reception Center (MTRC) and now named Charles Bass. I started as a officer. In 1985 I was promoted to Corporal. In 1989 I transferred to Riverbend Maximum Security Institution and was promoted to Lieutenant. I served as Disciplinary Board Chairman and Administrative Lieutenant. In 2012 I was promoted to Chief of Security. I am now Unit Manager for 2 housing units. Unit 1 houses 96 maximum security inmates. Unit 2 houses 67 inmates sentenced to death. (death row).
