I am currently a retired Professor Emeritus formerly employed at Middle Tennessee State University in the Political Science Department and reached the level of full Professor. I was employed by this university from 1963 until I fully retired in 2001.I was born in Ft. Myers Florida in 1933. Our family moved to Bristol Tennessee in 1942 and I graduated from high school there in 1952. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and was sent to Germany in 1954. I gained experience as a radio intercept operator and exposure to another language and culture. There I met and married my wife Elsa in 1956. My military service provided access to a university education through the GI Bill and I enrolled in King College in Bristol in 1957. I soon transferred to the University of Tennessee and completed my bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1959. I went on to study for one year in Germany at the University of Koln. In 1960-61 under a Fulbright Scholarship. I returned to the University of Tennessee to finish my Ph.D. in 1967.I accepted a position in the Political Science Department at Middle Tennessee State University in 1963. I have authored Political Science textbooks in International Law, and Law and the Legal System.
