I have 40 years of experience representing classes in civil rights and employment discrimination cases, and have served as class counsel in some of the country’s largest fair employment class action cases. I founded Settlement Services, Inc. (SSI) in 1992 in order to administer my law offices’ class action cases. In 2011, SSI became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Garden City Group, LLC (GCG), the recognized leader in class action administration. I have worked almost exclusively on federal class actions in which I have represented plaintiffs and their classes in discrimination and Fair Labor Standards Act cases. I have been appointed to act as Special Master in three class action discrimination cases before district courts in the Northern District of Georgia, the Northern District of California, and the District of Columbia. I draw from my extensive class action litigation experience to develop solutions that achieve the best possible administration services to all parties involved in a settlement. SSI’s depth of experience handling the practical and legal aspects of class actions provides the insight to spot potential problems and provide efficient, cost-effective solutions. Our team has handled hundreds of cases - many for the EEOC - involving hundreds of thousands of class members, and has disbursed over one billion dollars in settlement funds.I have lectured extensively on class action discrimination topics including at American Bar Association conferences for the Labor and Employment Law Section; at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.’s training conferences; at the Florida ACLU’s annual lawyers’ training conferences; and at symposiums sponsored by the Florida Commission on Human Relations, The Impact Fund, NELA, Johns Hopkins University, and the Florida State University College of Law.
