Since graduating from university I had been working as a CAD Technician for JCB Site security. In sales, as a consultant for the new camera stations and software products contracted and subcontracted. My main role was to design the plans through use of Autocad software on both Windows and Macintosh platform, securing and installation on construction sites for projects such as; schools, offices, hotels, house builds, warehouses and plant. The work being conducted for some of the largest construction companies across the country. I would go out on site to carry out surveys, creating revised drawings following discussions with customer’s requests, to create secure perimeters for works, vehicles and storage facilities. These products are then installed on site with setup as the engineered drawings that have been used by foremen to create new builds.

My line manger asked me to accompany and assist on sties with speacialist jobs such as : new builds, floods and meetings for additional contracts. Based at my store I would liaison with the site for entry to areas in non-working hours, gaining access to complete contracted work. Also achieving additional specialist Jobs that became additional contracted work. As a result of this I was able to gain experience in Health and Safety, In-depth Hygiene, COSHH awareness, bodily fluids & Sharps, fire & first aid, Accident reporting, safety signage, manual Handling, heavy duty machinery equipment operating and general maintenance. I brought a number of my ideas to the attention of the ‘Interserve’, including designing a practical worksheet. As a result ‘Interserve’ in recognition of this work awarded me a number of certifications.
