An accomplished Sax player and musical guru, he has many accomplishments to his name.Born in Ooty and Educated in Chennai, he started his Music career at the age of 12 by Learning the Violin from the Great Master G.Dhanraj, who has been the Master for almost all the Cine Musicians Including the “Maestro” Illayaraja and A.R.Rahman.He learnt to play the Trumpet from his Father, One of the Best Solo Trumpet players of all times the late R.Y. DASS, who was Associated with Sanker Jaikishan, Madan Mohan and many others in Mumbai. He along with his father moved to Chennai where his father was then associated along with MS.Viswanathan the legendary and celebrated South Indian Music Director, popularly known as "MellisaiMannar"and K.V.Mahadevan, another Music director from the golden age of Tamil Cinema.Music is my life; Let my music reach out to all the hearts, body and soul. -Jeevan Thomas.
