During my time at Ashwood Assist, I have been doing a 360 role including sales, client management and resourcing. I am responsible for over seeing a team of Care Co-ordinators to ensure the smooth day to day running of social service and local authority clients. Part of my role is to ensure that targets are met by the team and all shifts are covered to the highest of standards ensuring that all compliance is met. I ensure that all care plans are met and that the rotas where up to date and followed. Gray Healthcare has created an inpatient philosophy to manage and support individuals with mental disorder in their own homes, including complex needs, challenging behaviours and Community Treatment Orders. The service will help meet growing national needs and address the important issues relating to inappropriate extended placements in secure, or other, inpatient environments. In particular, the service recognises the complex nature of challenging behaviours, the need for 24 hour care, support and the requirement for an experienced clinical team to manage risk professionally in the community. We offer highly individualised and tailored care packages for service users who do not need the physical security of an inpatient facility but do require support caring for themselves in the community, thus reducing the likelihood of relapse. Gray Healthcare has a bespoke “search and select” property team who have a National Contact Framework of Social Landlords, enabling us to secure tenancies for most service users, including those with complex needs, challenging behaviours and Community Treatment Orders. The comprehensive clinical package includes nursing, psychological support and occupational therapy within a framework of bespoke risk management strategies directed by an NHS consultant psychiatrist (who may be the service users Responsible Clinician in the community). Each patient’s needs are individually assessed and a full community based care plan is put in place which, typically would involve a minimum 4 and up to 24 hours per day 1:1 time with allocated staff. As service users progress, the time input can be varied to meet new horizons or reduced as the service user moves towards greater independence. Our unique dual registration with CQC ensures that we are able to offer a comprehensive “in patient” approach to care in the service users own home.

I was responsible for the day to day running of the Driving desk which involves filling bookings, making sales calls, setting up sales meetings for managers, liaising with managers and directors of customers on a daily basis and dealing with drivers regarding any work, availability, issues or complaints. My duties here also included liaising with payroll and the account department to ensure that all drivers are paid and all invoices are paid to us, I would also chase up any outstanding payments as and when necessary. I was responsible for HGV 2, 7.5 tonne and light goods contacts and cover for HGV 1 contracts when needed to do so, this involved keeping to company procedures, working time directive, license checks ect. I was also responsible for my own administration work and getting my own sales leads, chasing and receiving tachographs and time sheets on a weekly basis and ensuring control sheets were organised and kept up to date. Being flexible was essential as I have to be available to do on call, meaning that I work from home over night and on weekends.
