Engineering Manager (Delivery Lead)

Sydney, New South Wales, Au

Engineering Lead for Tyro's integration with the American Express OptBlue programI joined Tyro's Payments department to lead the pricing and costing team and to coordinate the backlog of up to two offshore teams. In May 2022 the head of the department asked me to kick-off, lead and coordinate the technical implementation of Tyro's entire OptBlue integration. On the organizational side this involved establishing requirements documentation with Product Manager, holding weekly catchu-ps with Amex representatives, using question registries to effectively removing roadblocks for our developers, facilitating security audits, achieving the OptBlue certification before the Amex change freeze. On the technical side, I orchestrated the team's work on low-level protocols including the GCAG ISO link, PIN encryption via HSM, the process of clearing (GFSG) and reconciliation (GRRCN). This also entailed integrating OptBlue into various Tyro internal frontends, such as those for chargeback handling or financial reporting. Additionally, OptBlue was fully integrated with Tyro's existing pricing and costing structures.Tyro was certified as official OptBlue acquirer by then end of 2022 and went live in the second half of 2023.
