I saw individual patients and was the co-therapist for the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Program, a drug and alcohol recovery group. The IOP program is a didactic, pyscho-educational group, which is part of a structured, comprehensive recovery program. Programming included psychiatric services, individual therapy, group therapy, and involvement with a 12-step program. The program varied in length depending on the client's need and progress in the program. My work as an intern included a caseload between 15-20 individual patients in addition to the 8-hours of group therapy that I performed.
