Current• Trained and provides care to patients, ranging from children to adolescents, on an inpatient crisis stabilization unit that provides psychiatric services.• Cross trained and provides care to patients, ranging from newborns to adolescents, on a clinical observation unit that admits patients for multi specialty services. • Assess, develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive plans of care through a multidisciplinary team approach in collaboration with patients and families. • Demonstrate clinical skills and maintain competency in managing both chronic and acutely ill patients, such as IV and medication administration, blood product infusions, respiratory suctioning, etc.• Skilled in identifying any changes in patients’ baseline status, based on their developmental stage, and when to initiate a pediatric rapid response or code blue. • Assume charge nurse role and serve as direct liaison between administration, admitting, and staffing staff during designated shift.• Serve as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
