I live in a Victorian terrace house in the middle of the city and can pretty much never park outside my house to charge, can only use public charging stations and my family live past the range of my car – exactly the type of person who should NOT be buying an EV right? Yet I’ve sold my fossil fuel burning vehicle and have gone all in for EV.Why on earth am I doing this, I hear you ask? I’m a firm believer in practicing what you preach. Much of my role is developing and promoting components for electrified vehicles and for me I have to have a passion and skin in the game for something to credibly promote it. I felt like a bit of a fraud driving around in my diesel and at the same time being vocal about electrification. My thoughts were if I can make an EV work, then it really is a credible technology to help us on the way to better air quality and reduced emissions.
