For over 40 years I have designed, built and installed sets and technical resources for a variety of entertainment formats and programs - including Live Theater, Corporate Events, Musical Concerts, Dramatic & Science-Fiction Film, TV - Sitcom, Musical Variety and Award, Talk Show and Live Comedy Variety. On these productions I served variously as Production Designer, Art Director, or Assistant Art Director. In most cases I was also the Production Lead, Lead Carpenter, and Scenic Artist – or all three! While my specific responsibilities have varied from production to production, my usual work process has been to confer with the producer(s)/director (s) in developing the concepts for the overall visual look and physical layout of the show and space in the venue. Later I would develop presentation drawings, including color sketches, models, floor plans, construction drawings and installation schedules and/or strategies for mounting the production. For these same productions I would also develop the preliminary, final, and working budgets for the scenic or technical aspects of the projects. Sometimes these budgets would be as small as $4,000.00 or as much as $2,000,000.00. Oftentimes, I would also secure and supervise the crews involved in the building, installing and the striking of the sets for the shows. I have extensive knowledge of AutoCad, TurboCad, CorelDraw, Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator. As well, I have excellent working knowledge of Works, Powerpoint, Excel spreadsheet and other database functions. I believe that my hands-on skill with Drawing, Scenic Painting, Drafting, Carpentry, Rigging and Projection systems is exceptional. Additionally, throughout my many years of design activity I have learned to be extremely efficient with handling multiple projects at one time. I have additional skill sets in many aspects of entertainment production - from Sketching, odeling, CAD Drafting and Budgeting to Construction, Scenic Painting and Set Dressing.

Production Art DirectorRisarc Consulting, Llc - The Caribbean Classic Golf International (Ccgi) Feb 2009 - Jul 2009JamaicaThis was a multiple day event (5 days) in Jamaica that required their outdoor stadium venue (at Rose-Field Hall) to each day be transformed for an entirely different type of entertainment presentation. In addition there were several other locations near the vicinity of the stadium that had to be decorated for a variety of different celebration, party, and meeting events.My job required that I first coordinate with the key corporate client (Risarc, LLC) and a variety of event producers (from live event, comedy, and music performance to sports presentation), a stadium rigging company, lighting, sound and projection companies, catering companies, tent providers, decorating companies and programming officials within the organization on the planning and logistics of their respective activities and end up creating an overall Site Plan for the event. The entire event was televised to American and European concerns, so I had to also confer with a variety of television producers and technicians about their on-site needs. Once this site plan was agreed upon, I then designed and coordinated with various set construction firms and professional individuals on the construction, painting and rigging of the variety of stages, booths, and themed settings that were needed. It was in this phase that I also developed preliminary and working budgets, as well as priority lists for managing the production of these settings. Lastly, I also with a variety of local decorating firms on the décor and resources that would be needed for the various meetings and special events that would be held throughout the 5-day event. Once all of my constructed elements were just about done I coordinated with the various event collaborators on the final placement of their gear and on the refinement of the overall logistics needed to actually install everything unto that outdoor venue. All of this required my collaboration with multiple construction, trucking, rigging, and installation concerns as well.
