    This is definitely not your normal controller role. Which is fitting because Celigo is definitely not your normal company. I am in charge of your standard controller processes (AR, AP, Intercompany, Procurement, Revenue, GL, FA, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Equity, Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Audit), but I also oversee the entire RevOps team including Deal Desk, Order Management, Licensing, and Finance Systems (NetSuite and Dealhub). Which gives me oversight of the entire quote to cash process. This is definitely new to me, but it is unlocking some amazing process optimization.And of course it could not be a successful year if I did not drive some process and system improvements. In this first year we implemented NetSuite OneWorld, Multibook for our India subsidiary, Coupa (for procurement, invoice processing and employee expense), and reworked our revenue checklist. All while successfully delivering our first TWO big 4 audits. Current project I am working on is rethinking renewals as operations and standardizing our approach so that our sales team can focus on landing new logos and expanding our customers usage of the best in class Celigo platform.Stay tuned...

    The wild ride at Hopin continued. A significant business restructure led to me taking over the accounting team in a newly created Controller role. While this meant moving out of my individual contributor role focusing on transformation, I could not have been luckier to have such a talented team at Hopin. I oversaw Treasury, Investor Relations, Revenue, Tax, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Fixed Assets and General Ledger. And if I could find any spare time I spent it dabbling in system and process transformation. My team launched automations using RPA (Automation Anywhere), APA (Alteryx), and middleware (Workato). But it is never enough. I am always interested in finding new solutions that can help save my teams time so they can focus on being best in class business partners.

    This will go down as one of the most exciting years of my entire career. Things at Hopin were moving fast and there was no exception for the accounting team. In this role I specialized in all things integration and implementation. My favorite thing about Hopin was that there were no traditional barriers to what I could work on. Which allowed me to have meaningful impact and collaboration across the entire company. The highlights include: integrating the finance systems for the recent acquisitions (3), leading the business process integration for these integrations, implementing a new billing system (Zone Advanced Billing), implementing a new revenue system (Advanced Revenue Module), implementing a new S2C system (Zip), integrating Zip with NetSuite to automate PO creation, integrating Avalara in NetSuite and Stripe, and automating the entire billing process using middleware (Workato). Not too shabby for a year's work.
