Over my IT career, I have worn many hats. I have spent time as an IT leader solving business problems for a large architectural practice and I have spent time in the trenches, fixing crashed servers at 2 am, cabling racks and patching servers. I have loved every minute of my IT career and I am always looking forward to what challenges I will tackle next.I have recently been spending a lot of my time learning how to automate Windows technology. In the past, I learned about packaging software and using management frameworks like Altiris and SCCM to build servers and deploy software. Now I am learning to use PowerShell and Ansible to automate server builds, software installations, and systems configuration. Learning to code YAML and PowerShell has been a unique but rewarding challenge. I recently attended AnsibleFest and picked up several new tricks to help resolve some lingering Windows automation issues I have been facing.Being an IT Geek is a lot of fun and I often reflect on my career and all of the IT opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of. I have collected a lot of experience in 25 plus years in IT and I love to learn new stuff and tackle new challenges. I have learned to blend my technical ability with my knack for problem-solving and my leadership skills to help the companies I have worked for to solve complex business problems with effective IT solutions.
