ESRC-UBEL research project - 'Feminist Regulatory Relationships with 'the Usefulness' of the Law and Sex'

Research: Investigating how everyday relationships with 'the use of law' configure the identities, strategies, and political possibilities of feminist activists.Teaching: Public Law; Public Law Advanced; The Legal Regulation of Sexual Relationships (convenor); The Criminal Process; and LLM Dissertation.

I was responsible for LFJL's Research Department, which examines a diverse range of topics and themes related to human rights in Libya. The Research Department offers precise and informed recommendations, a channel for the voices of those affected, and new ways to think about human rights. My work focused on investigating a variety of human rights issues that concern gender, internal displacement and minority rights in Libya.

As Deputy Director and Gender Equality Programme Coordinator, I worked with LFJL to develop its activities on transitional justice, impunity and human rights, constitutional and legal reform, governance and the rule of law and international advocacy. I helped devise and manage a wide range of programme activities on freedom of expression, advocacy, constitutional drafting, freedom from torture, and human rights archiving.

I assisted various individuals and organisations, such as the Community Legal Education Center (CLEC) and women's rights campaigner Mu Sochua. My work focused on the concerns of sex workers, domestic workers, as well as those employed in the garment industry. My responsibilities included legal research, assistance with advocacy strategies, report drafting, and communications management.

I helped to develop a project raising awareness of the situation facing detainees in Indonesia. My work involved the construction of a political prisoners database.

I assisted with in the establishment of the first Corporate Social Responsibility project concerning Human Rights in Cambodia, as well as researching the killing of a youth in contested Thai/Cambodian territory.
