AVL builds Blood Gas analyzers. The data gathered from these, small hand held instruments, must be recovered and stored in a data warehouse. My role was to develop the communications between the analyzer and the data warehouse, using Visual C++ with ATL, COM/DCOM/MTS, COM+. All data was transmitted in XML using MTS/COM/COM+ as a communications platform. Roche acquired AVL just after I arrived.

The role that I toke with Galaxy was varied. As manager I needed to handle resources and budget, including hiring personnel and acquiring fixed assets. As team lead, my assignment was to put together a software development team and develop a propagation tool used in the cellular communications industry. My duties included leading the design and development cycles of the project. The project used Visual C++ 6.0 and UML modeling techniques.
