I am a dedicated young organic chemist fascinated by the intricate behavior of organic molecules and I have the desire to understand their chemical reactivity on the molecular level. One of the fundamental challenges in organic chemistry is the rational design of new (catalytic) chemical reactions. Understanding how exactly to control reactivity in chemistry paves the way for the tailor-made design of organic reactions and can open avenues to discover new chemical transformations. To accomplish this ambitious goal, I work on the intersection between computational quantum chemistry and experimental synthetic chemistry. I obtained my M.Sc. (2015, summa cum laude) and Ph.D. (2020, cum laude) in Chemistry from Leiden University (ORCID ID: 0000-0002-6291-1569). I'm currently an Assistant Professor in the Synthetic Organic Chemistry & Catalysis group (Prof. Ruijter).
