As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between volunteers and children, ages six through 18, in communities across the country. BBBS helps to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. During my time at Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest, the agency was the largest provider of professionally supported one-to-one mentoring on the West Coast, and the ninth largest Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the country.As Director, I monitored and evaluated daily program performance as it relates to BBBS of America's service delivery model; oversaw data reporting for federal and local grants; reviewed documentation and provided monthly quality assurance for program staff; reviewed and assessed risk management and safety issues for program participants; and offered technological assistance to the Vice President of Programs and other departments as needed. It is the flagship hospital for its Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, which has been recognized by its peers as one of the top ten in the US. Butler is the major training site and the base hospital for the Brown University General Residency in Psychiatry.
